Double or Quit Race

29th August 2009  5pm start

Thanks to all the runners who took part on the day and for all the positive feedback we received from the runners.  Conditions were favourable and we had a new course record for the 10 mile race of 57:35. The results are available now.

Welcome to the website for the Double or Quit race.  This is an event hosted by Ilkeston Running Club (see www.ilkestonrunningclub.co.uk ).  2009 was the 5th time the event has been held.

We like to think that the race appeals to the majority of runners as it has the following attributes:

  • held on a summers evening
  • a scenic country park
  • traffic free (just about)
  • multi terrain
  • the choice of one 5 mile lap or two - hence the name of the event
  • lots of enthusiastic marshals
  • perpetual trophies, race memento and a goody bag
  • open to all abilities
If you enjoy a challenge and prefer to run on trails then this is the race for you.  The 10 mile option is a hard challenge and would suit anyone looking for a preparation race for an autumn half marathon.
